Elected officials from each city and county throughout the valley will determine how their jurisdictions will accommodate the regional vision.
The final product, known as the San Joaquin Valley Regional Blueprint, will include a visual representation of the goals expressed in general plans and individual regional transportation plans.
Kern is one of eight San Joaquin Valley regions that will share the $2.5 million grant, which includes $500,000 in matching funds from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. Councils of governments in each county (Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tulare) will administer the grant.
